Update 26 June
Dear Family and Friends,
Health authorities continue to be concerned that there is active transmission of the virus in the community. With immediate effect our visitor guidelines have been updated in line with direct advice from Dr Kerry Chant, NSW Chief Health Officer – any visitors who have travelled to Melbourne in the previous 14 days are to be denied entry to any aged care facility.
Due to the positive test for COVID-19 being reported at Lane Cove West School earlier this week, Columbia made the decision to close our Willowood Centre located at Chatswood to visitors for a short period. Willowood Centre will reopen for visitors from Tuesday 30 June.
If a positive COVID-19 case is detected within the local area of one of our facilities, just as with Willowood, we will revert to stronger restrictions at that facility to ensure the continued safety of our Residents and Staff.
We understand how disappointing this is for the Residents, Family and Friends of our Willowood Centre. This outbreak along with events in Victoria are a reminder for us all to remain vigilant.
Reminder – people are not permitted to enter any Columbia facility if they or someone they live with:
- Has visited Melbourne in the last 14 days
- Has had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
- Are feeling unwell or has a temperature, or
- Has not had a current flu vaccination
Family and Friends are able to book a visitor time slot online at:-

Guidance provided by the Federal and State Government health departments has been consistent – we can all help slow the spread by practising good hygiene, social distancing and following the limits for public gatherings.
The Columbia Executive are constantly reviewing the risk across all facilities and considers the safety of our Residents and our Staff our highest priority.
As always if you have any questions please reach out to your Facility Services Manager.
Stay safe,
Tiffany
