Columbia Acacia Centre – Open for visitors Day 3 13 Oct
Dear Residents, Family and Friends,
We, like you are adjusting to the new found freedoms Greater Sydney and the rest of NSW are currently enjoying. With these freedoms comes risk for our most vulnerable. Several aged care facilities have been taken back into lockdown because visitors have tested positive to COVID.
The protocols outlined in previous communications are designed to keep Residents, Staff, you and your family safe. Bookings are essential and all visitors must be over 12 years and fully vaccinated. Full requirements to enter the facility are listed on our bookings website. https://bookings.columbiaagedcare.com.au/
Everyone entering a Columbia facility must have a negative COVID-19 test no more than 3 days old (72 hours). For example:
|Day 0 – Tuesday 12pm||Day 1 (24hrs) – Wednesday 12pm|
|Day 2 (48hrs) – Thursday 12pm|
|Day 3 (72hrs) – Friday 12pm|
Visitors are not permitted to enter the facility after 12pm on Friday as the COVID test they took on Tuesday is no longer current. Visitors require proof of another negative test from Friday 12pm to enter a Columbia facility.
From Friday 15th October Residents are permitted to leave the facility and attend family gatherings or for other reasons but must abide by the current Public Health (COVID-19 General) Order 2021.
There are directions in the Order relating to vaccination requirements. All people aged 12 years and over must be fully vaccinated to visit:
- Hospitality venues such as a café or restaurant
- group classes and activities at recreation facilities
- retail outlets such as shopping centres (not including critical services such as a supermarket or pharmacy)
Residents will be supplied with a mask and must abide by the same mask wearing rules outside the facility in accordance with Public Health Orders. Please email your FSM to arrange an outing.
