Dear Residents, Family and Friends
The Columbia Executive are very pleased to advise that visitor bookings are NO LONGER REQUIRED to any Columbia facility.
Visitors are welcome Monday through Sunday, no booking required.
Whilst the risk of COVID-19 has reduced it is still present. Visitors should review the NSW Health Updates to ensure that they have not been in an area where a positive COVID-19 case has been identified.
All visitors MUST report to reception and observe the COVID-19 protocols:
- Review and sign Visitor Health Declaration and temperature check prior to entry.
- Be provided a COLOURED DOT upon entry so that staff know they have undergone the temp check and declaration.
- Social distancing must be maintained at all times.
- Hand hygiene – use of hand sanitiser on entry and exit to the facility.
- Visits in Residents rooms will be allowed.
Staff will question visitors at any time to ensure that the above protocols are being adhered too.
For those Residents in shared rooms, visits may have to take place in the common areas as some Residents have expressed to us that they are not yet ready to have other visitors in their home.
Masks are no longer required but encouraged. Visiting times pre COVID-19 were generally in the daylight hours. Please consider the daily routine of your loved one before you choose to visit and does that time work for them.
Family and Friends are welcome to take Residents out of the facility to attend family gatherings and group excursions – including Christmas Day! Please complete the required form and send to your Facility Services Manager – email email@example.com to request the form. We ask that you submit in advance so the staff can make the necessary preparations. COVID-19 protocols must still be followed – the temperature of the Resident is to be recorded on departure and return by a Columbia staff member. For all excursions NSW Health have advised aged care facilities to maintain these records to assist in contact tracing if required.
