Update 3 June 2020

Dear Residents, Family and Friends,

Last week proved emotional as scheduled visitation commenced across all facilities at Columbia Aged Care.  Residents truly enjoyed the face to face visits with their loved ones as well as the many gifts and care packages.

Demand for visitor appointments has been strong and we appreciate your patience as we welcomed visitors back and endeavoured to accommodate everyone into the scheduled timeslots.

As a reminder no children under the age of 16 should visit an aged care facility and no pets are allowed at any time.

The Executive wish to thank all those in the extended Columbia Community for their kind words of support and acknowledgement of the great work the teams are doing during this challenging time. 

We must also be mindful of the high risk that is still present within Aged Care Facilities despite general restrictions being eased in the community.  Prevention is our best defense and we rely on everyone, Staff, Family and Friends to be diligent and follow the advice that is generally available:-

The Columbia Executive continues to review the Visitor Policy weekly and for now visits will continue by appointment, limited to one visitor per Resident, Tuesday through Friday and during business hours.

We hope to offer more flexibility for visitation in the coming weeks.

Connecting Residents with Family and Friends

Staff at all facilities have been connecting Residents with family and friends through iPads, tablets and smart phones for video calls and regular phone calls. If you have been unable to connect please contact us by clicking here,  let us know the Resident and Facility you are looking to connect with and your request will be forwarded.
