The Oberon Village in Oberon is a fully accredited nursing home that has been purpose built to suit the needs of the Oberon and neighbouring communities for their aged care residential services.
We opened our doors on the 18 May 2015 with the official opening on the 29 May 2015.
The Oberon Village is an architectural gem situated in a beautiful location with sweeping regional views of the Oberon area. The design of the building is state of the art with the very best furnishings and technology available to the residents and staff of the home.
So that family can easily stay in touch, each resident has access to the connection of a telephone. They also have a wall mounted LED Smart high definition television which is individually controlled from the bedside handset. There is the ability to set up Skype on the television to allow for face to face catch ups.
There is the ability to install a very competitively priced Foxtel package to your room television as well as connecting a private phone line to your room for a nominal charge. Internet access will also be available for an additional charge.
Oberon Village features many comfortable and private dining, sitting and lounge areas all furnished in the highest quality fabrics and furniture.
There is a well-appointed lounge, dining and servery on each level with large screen high definition Smart TV’s with Foxtel and additional living spaces on each level. There is an activities room on the ground floor where a Theatre style Smart TV has been installed for movie nights and games tables are always set up for anyone wishing to play games, do a jigsaw or simply read a book.
All meals are prepared in our state of the art kitchen. We prepare all of our dietician approved meals from the kitchen and send through to our serveries on each level for fast, hot and personal food service.
There are also various entertainment areas throughout the home for use by the residents and their families and friends, such as the patio area off the ground floor, BBQ areas and outdoor seating on lower ground and ground floor plus a variety of quiet rooms to spend some quiet time together.
We have a fully functional Hairdressing Salon on site where local hairdressers will be offering services to the residents of the village as well as a self-serve Café that will at times offer cakes and coffee by local community groups.
There are rooms available for families to have private events if needed, please speak with our Facility Services Manager if this is something you may be interested in.
The Village offers therapy and recreational facilities. Each day of the week offers new and varied activities ranging from in-house fitness and craft classes, through to taking residents out to community events and activities. Hairdressers visit on a regular basis and newspapers are delivered daily. Massage, aromatherapy and other natural therapies are also available.
All staff are fully trained and experienced Registered Nurses are on duty 24 hours per day to provide high-level care and specialised nursing treatments.
"This morning breakfast consisted of thin sausages, grilled tomatoes and poached eggs. The food was presented professionally, quality products were used and tasted like true restaurant quality food. This is another example of the high quality foods offered to residents at Oberon Village. Please pass on my thanks to the catering staff. Well done Columbia." Facility Resident

Fees and Accommodation Payments -from July 2014
Moving into an aged care home may require payments or refundable deposits, as well as ongoing fees for your care, accommodation and daily living expenses. How much you pay depends on your financial situation. However, there are strong protections in place to make sure that care is affordable for everyone.
At Columbia Aged Care, we welcome all prospective residents no matter your financial situation.
The government sets the basic daily fee which contributes towards the cost of supplying services such as meals, laundry, linen and electricity. You may also pay an income support payment, if you have income above the capped pensioner income amounts. This is determined through the Department of Social Services through an income and asset test. This co-payment will be known as a means tested care fee and will contribute towards the costs of nursing and personal care services.
Accommodation payments are determined based on a persons level of asset and income. An assessment may be carried out through the Department of Social Services to determine whether a person is exempt from paying such a payment. It is essential that this assessment is carried out prior to entering residential care to ensure your accommodation payment is calculated based on your personal financial situation.
Columbia Aged Care offers four categories of accommodation payments depending on the room facilities. See our accommodation pricing and please contact us to talk through your care options.
