From 1 July 2014 people entering permanent aged care may be required to pay an accommodation payment, in addition to the basic daily care fees and means tested care fee (if applicable).
Your personal financial situation will determine the level of accommodation payment you may need to pay. People with limited assets and income may have their accommodation payment fully or partially subsidised by the Government. An asset assessment form should be completed and sent to Centrelink or the Department of Veteran Affairs before entering permanent care to ensure the correct accommodation payment is determined for you by the aged care home.
The accommodation payments (if applicable to you) are payable as either Refundable Accommodation Deposits (RAD) or Daily Accommodation Payments (DAP) or a combination of both. Accommodation payments are capped at the maximum RAD or DAP equivalent shown on our website, see below, or advertised on the MyAgedCare website.
Refundable Accommodation Deposits (RAD) are made as a lump sum of the negotiated accommodation price, whilst Daily Accommodation Payments are charged as daily payments and are billed in advance each month. If payment is made by a RAD then the full accommodation deposit will be returned when you leave our home, less any allowed charges that are outstanding at this time. If you decide to make your accommodation payment by way of a combination of both a RAD and DAP and your DAP payments are not being met then any outstanding DAP’s may be taken from the held lump sum amount (RAD). It should be noted that by doing so it will increase the level of DAP payments by the reduced RAD amount held to ensure equivalence to the original accommodation payment price agreed upon at entry.
It is important to note that these prices have been derived to represent the maximum charges applicable for our accommodation, all prices are negotiable to meet your personal financial situation. We are dedicated to providing accommodation to all people requiring clinical care and support with daily living within an aged care home environment, regardless of their financial position.
The current maximum accommodation payments and accommodation types for our Willowood Centre are; Effective 1st Jan 2019

Key Features Statement
All rooms are of equal high quality with new contemporary furnishings, with rooms on our lower ground floor suited for people requiring a lower level of clinical care. These rooms have carpet in rooms whilst the rooms on our ground and first floor have vinyl flooring and are more suited for people requiring a higher level of clinical care.
Each room has a mounted HD LED TV, electric bed, bedside locker, overbed tray, built in wardrobes and high back chairs and visitors chairs all in modern and contemporary fabrics. All beds have a nurse call pendant and each room has the ability to have a private phone installed for a minimal cost. Phones are supplied by us and an external number will be provided once this has been established. There is also Foxtel available on the room TV’s to be enjoyed by all of our residents. Each of our rooms also include a private air conditioner for individual choice of temperature control.
We encourage residents to bring in small items of furnishings and pictures to remind them of home, should they so wish.
All rooms have direct access to either a private ensuite or a shared ensuite with the adjoining room. Ensuites have been designed to provide support to those that are able to wash themselves or to assist nursing staff when washing residents themselves. They are modern in design and in excellent condition.
Some rooms have access to a private terrace on our first floor and some rooms are larger than our average room sizes shown above, with few below the averages shown.
Willowood Centre features many comfortable and private dining, sitting and lounge areas.
There is a well-appointed lounge, dining and kitchenette on each level with large screen TV and Foxtel. There are also various entertainment areas throughout the home for use by the residents and their families and friends, such as the front al-fresco dining/sitting area and BBQ area and gardens located at the rear of the property. We also have an ‘all weather’ internal atrium area where seating is available for all to enjoy with automatic controlled louvre roof, allowing the sun in or to keep the rain out.
There are also a variety of activity rooms throughout the home where residents may entertain friends and family or get involved in the many activities held such as art classes, knitting groups, games, puzzles, reading groups and many more plus a variety of interesting & community based bus outings throughout the week.
We also have our own ‘Beauty Spot’ hairdressing salon, which is run by a local hairdresser who visits our facility on a regularly basis throughout the week.
Newspapers are delivered to the home daily for our residents use in our common areas, or you can have your own papers or magazines delivered as often as you like for a nominal charge.
