What attracted you to Columbia (ie why did you work for Columbia)?
The care and respect for the elderly: “Care, Comfort and Consideration”. To work in a secure and safe work environment.
What is your role now? Please explain what you do & if you are full time, part time or casual
Resident Support Officer across the three wings. Prepared room and welcome new admissions. Assist and complete menu selection for the 4 weeks. Assisted the Priest Minister and Pastoral visitors each week or once a month for the different church service. Provide support end of life palliative care to residents’ relatives.
What do you love about working at Columbia?
Of the week I do, the challenge, the privilege and the honour in spending time with the residents in their last hour of life in respect and dignity. Reassuring that he/she is not alone and to the end. Offering support to their family.
